taking a break

computer classes

it is a bit fun, a bit frustrating and pretty tiring, teaching again. New class, and of course there are issues with a student or two. existing students.. well, some ask for help, some just pound the keys. I have no idea if they are actually doing what they are supposed to be doing. I did get some word "remembering" just now in doing a mail merge field. ahhhh yes.. data tables and mail merge. such fun. In some inner reaches of me, I'd really like to provide basic computer training like this to people. How to get the money to do it, and how to make a living doing it is the nagging part of it. Or at least make some bucks off of it. Not much, enough to cover me. Would I have a chance at it?

and now for more news... I think I convinced Mike to head to VT on Saturday for a day of foliage. Let's see if we do it. I know he is talking to ex again, he cannot avoid it. So I need to make a decision on it soon. Seems like october is going to be a normal october... an urge for going.

it is a work in progress, but Word Press offers so much more for a blog... so I am there and not here. I'll miss this one, but.. life rolls on...

importing to word press

I was able to import a year of posts to word press, nothing though of the photos I have there from flickr, so.... I may delete them all and stick with this.. maybe not, I dunno. I'll noodle around the pmachine forums and see if anyone has done an export or import. I so want to use something that has support and more do-dads. or maybe I just want a new design... maybe that is it.

I don't want to leave it!

but if I can import this blog into a word press blog, well.... I sure will do that. But instead I may just move on to a new one, and link back to this one... boo hoo. but I think it may be a good idea to move this to a different domain as well, get it off my business domain. and... move on.

thinking about blogs

and thinking that this pMachine is very old skool, and with the new stuff out like jott etc.. maybe it is time to move up to a new platform. I just wish I could import my posts into a new platform. als looking at how MT is configured, see how to customize a template... but... as with all things, the learning curve ... well, it may not be as bad as I think.. we'll see

oh, and the car

still not fixed. bought parts Tuesday. he has it half done, and I am really in need of a car this coming week. such a procrastinator. like he won't work on it after dark. what? he worked on his after dark many times. I do not understand him many times

nite out

we went to a zz top concert last night. nice. watching the audience of alot of 30-40 somethings rocking, but also us 50-60 somethings, also rocking. I swear that a couple of the guys were close to 70 if not already there. all dancin and movin. what is nice about the arena is that it is in the casino and you can drink beer and other beveages in there. so I do.

good music always makes me happy. better than sex... slap my face... close to being better than sex. about the closest of anything.

ain't no winning for losing

the car went south two weeks ago, no, 3 weeks. whatever.. Mike diagnoses the problem, finds the broken part and we get it in, nope, more wrong. so I am about ready to hang it up. See if I can register Lauren's car in my name, and get insurance on it, and drive it while she continues to make payments on it, for her rent... otherwise, I ahve to figure on how am I going to be able to buy another car. this totally sucks

a bad month

the stress here is unbelievable. with his half truths and confusion it has made my life very stressful. and no new work coming in makes it even more stressful. I want it to be December and cold.

this blog, vox, flickr, and now... twitter. that may be a cool way to send "updates" while on the road. yup... like i have the time to do that... but as a good techie, i have to keep up with all things new and tech
